Land Rover Freelander 2 – Bigger And Better
The new Land Rover Freelander 2 was launched in SA recently and looks a lot bigger than the previous model, with lots of space and comfort.
The Freelander 2 has added legroom and a bigger boot and the look is clean and neat. It is a great family SUV that seats four comfortably.
The fascia is plain and easy to use and the huge glove compartment more than makes up for the lack of storage compartments. Leather upholstery and power adjustment seats adds elegance to the though Land Rover look.
With controls on the steering wheel, you can listen to radio/CD through six to fourteen speakers, depending on the model. Air-conditioning is divided into three categories – one for the driver, one for the front passenger and a last one for the rear seat passengers – so everyone can set the air-conditioning according to their temperature needs.
The Land Rover Freelander is available in one of two engines, one being a petrol and the other a six-speed 2.2-litre turbodiesel.
Standard safety features include seven crash bags, dynamic stability programme and traction control. Prices range from R339 000 up to R429 000 and this is said to be true value for money.
