Ford Focus undergoes some plastic surgery
The 2007 model of the Ford Focus will have some serious revisions to the styling and specification, as Ford says this feisty number is entering its mid life cycle. The current model has been with us for the past two years and according to Ford it is time for a change.
Redesigned front and rear bumpers are what catch the eye first. The rear bumper now sports a painted lower section. Another change is the addition of wing mirror-mounted indicator lights. Branded sill protectors, 17-inch alloy wheels and foot well carpets will differentiate the Si model from the rest of the Focus family.
There are also three new metallic colour options to choose from, including Tonic, Ocean and Plum Blush. New alloy wheel options are also available. The addition of cruise control as standard is also a welcome change.
Ford has also put in some extra effort when it comes to safety. The new Focus will come standard with ABS brakes with EBD and dual front airbags. As an optional extra, curtain airbags are available.
All models come with a five-year/60 000km Ford Protect Maintenance Plan and a three-year/unlimited kilometres roadside assistance plan. Service intervals are 20 000km for the petrol models and 15 000km for the diesel models. Prices range from R156 950 for the 1.6 Manual 4-door Ambiente to R218 551 for the 2.0 TDCi Manual 4-door Si.
