A new generation for Volkswagen

Since forever, Volkswagen is known for the Beatles, the Golfs, the Mini Bus in the David Kramer advertisement and of course, the Passat. But the new generation of Volkswagen is here. The Volkswagen EOS. Its fresh, its topless and its brand new.

Although it has some very familiar characteristics inherited from the Golf, Jetta and Passat, this brand new cabriolet Volkswagen is sure to set a new standard for its followers.  It comes in three derivatives, namely the Sportline, the 2.0 FSI 110kW manual and the 2.0 FSIT 147kW with a DSG box. The collapsible roof folds in about 25 seconds and can be put up or down inside a normal sized garage.  The sunroof also has a built-in glass section so that when the roof is erected it still has a normal sunroof.

The new EOS is said to give even the Audi A3 a go.  That’s a pretty serious statement to make, but then again, Volkswagen is very well known for its excellent performance of all models carrying the GTI engine.

Even if you’re not into Volkswagen, give this one a test drive. Or at least give Volkswagen some credit for coming up with a fresh new car.  Not just another modified Golf.  Oh yes and if you wondered where the name came from, EOS is a Greek goddess who rose from the sea on a chariot to shed sunlight on the world.  Let’s hope the new Volkswagen lives up to its name and sheds a little sunlight on all the Folksie fans.
