Kawasaki quad comes fully equipped

Kawasaki’s new KXF450R is the quad for the next generation.  All the expensive racing gadgets come standard it’s got all its tyres on the ground – always.

The full aluminium frame cuts its weight by about 20 percent while increasing rigidity.  The use of long-stroke suspension is allowed by longer A-arms that minimise camber change as the suspension flexes.  Kawasaki claims the tyres will stay on the ground even when the quad is almost airborne.

The front shock-absorbers have dual-rate springs and the rear shock-absorber is separately adjustable for low and high-speed compression damping as well as pre-load and rebound damping.  For increased durability, a light, three-ring forged piston and 21mm gudgeon pin come standard.  The 449cc engine is the same as the KXF450F but it can do so much more.

With the new quad, reversing is as simple as reversing with a car; you simply hook reverse and do exactly that.  Reverse.  Not something we are used to doing with quads.

Kawasaki says the standard titanium performance exhaust system will save the rider additional expense when preparing the quad for competition.  To lower the centre of gravity, the engine has been retuned towards low and mid-range torque and tilted forward nine degrees.

For motocross-style racing, the headlight can be easily assembled and removed and the fenders are made in two pieces for easy maintenance and repair.  The rims also have reinforcing plates on the axle side for extra strength.

The Kawasaki KXF450R comes with fuel-injection and all other racing components and costs R72 995 across South Africa.  The new Kawasaki quad is ready for you, but are you ready for it?
