Land Rover Defender: Simply The Best
The Land Rover Defender is an icon that is well known for its success and it is only natural that the makers would want to modify their Defender and still keep the great features that make it what it is today.
An estimated 75 percent of all Land Rovers ever built are still in working condition and in September this year South Africa will see the new Land Rover Defender in our showrooms, so that the legend can continue.
For the 21st century, Land Rover is bringing a new Defender to the game. It looks much the same as its predecessor from the outside, as Land Rover said that the new model was simply changed where change was needed.
The real changes are on the inside – the cabin is equipped with an enhanced sound system that can be enjoyed thanks to better sound-deadening. There is a single-piece moulded fascia to avoid creaks and rattles and the overall feel is that this one is also built to last a lifetime. It comes complete with all the century’s gadgets, including optional iPod support and better air-conditioning. The 2007 Defender is practical and fun. Transmission noise is much reduced and the new engine runs just as well on tar than it does off-road.
The toughest off-road terrains can be conquered with ease and there is enough torque for long distances on tar, making it a really practical 4X4 to own. It goes anywhere and even though the built is still rough around the edges, the 2007 Land Rover Defender takes 60 years of excellence to the next 60 years.
