Jeep Launches SUV in South Africa
It is the fourth new Jeep model that Chrysler has launched in a year, but the Jeep Patriot is somewhat different. It is a compact Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and falls in the same category as the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.
The safety of the Jeep Patriot is of high quality, with side-curtain air bags and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). It also has Brake Traction Control, driver-controlled three-mode ESP, Brake Assist, Electronic Roll Mitigation and anti-lock brakes with rough-road detection.
Some proudly Jeep exteriors include a seven-slot grille, huge bumper and round headlights. The 17-inch alloy wheels are fitted with all-season tyres and the rear bumper adds to its typical Jeep look.
The engine is a 2.4-litre “World Engine”, which produces 125 kW and 220 Nm of torque. This model is equipped with a 5-speed manual or CVT auto transmission. The Patriot is also available as a 2.0-litre common-rail diesel engine with a power output of 103 kW and 310 Nm of torque. The diesel engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.
